Steve O Connell is a screenwriter and filmmaker based in Waterford. 

He has written, produced and directed two short films, Frequency (2017) and The Grey Grouse (2018), the latter of which premiered at the Waterford Film Festival in 2018.

He has also worked as an associate producer with independent production company Dream Boat and as a script editor on The First Draft and Beyond, a training programme run by Screen Skills Ireland. He is co-producer of Growing Up at the End of the World (2020) a documentary commissioned by RTÉ.

He holds a first class honours degree in Visual Communication from TU Dublin and makes a living as a graphic designer.
